UFC on ESPN 43: Vera vs. Sandhagen

UFC on ESPN 43: Vera vs. Sandhagen, is an upcoming MMA event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Scheduled to take place on March 25, 2023, at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, the event will mark the promotion’s third visit to the city and the first since UFC on ESPN: dos Anjos vs. Edwards in July 2019.

The event will be headlined by a bantamweight bout between Marlon Vera and former interim UFC Bantamweight Championship challenger Cory Sandhagen. Originally scheduled to headline UFC Fight Night: Andrade vs. Blanchfield, the bout was moved to UFC on ESPN 43 for unknown reasons.

Although not officially announced by the promotion, there were rumors that a rematch between Irene Aldana and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship challenger Raquel Pennington would be the main event. The two previously met at UFC on ESPN: dos Anjos vs. Edwards, where Pennington won by a split decision.

In addition to the main event, a welterweight bout between Sean Brady and Michel Pereira was also expected to take place, but was later canceled after Brady pulled out due to a torn groin in mid-February.
